THE LAST GREAT IDEA

The Last Great Idea was an international residency that focused on how to sustain experimental practice over a long-term artistic collaboration. Partnering with leading New York institutions, Nature Theater of Oklahoma and Hyperjetlag Arts, as well as four independent performers, Pan Pan created an innovative space for collaboration, transnational exchange and relationship building.

As part of the residency, we explored innovation in theatre and performance in terms of form, aesthetics and idea generation relating to real life and to different and diverse communities. We sought originality, authenticity and a way to communicate our findings to an audience. This residency allowed us to re-boot, re-create and sustain our process for making work for the future.

The Last Great Idea will took place in New York in Spring 2024, supported by the Arts Council's International Residency Award 2023.

Collaborators: Emma Coen, Kelly Copper, Aedín Cosgrove, Vallejo Gantner, Anne Gridley, Mish Grigor, Robert Johanson, Faith Jones, Gundega Laivina, Pavol Liska and Gavin Quinn
